The Synlab project at Manifattura Tabacchi in Florence is a hub of excellence for medical diagnostics, part of a broad urban regeneration program. The Synlab Medical Center occupies an area of approximately 4,000 square meters, divided into four levels, and welcomes users and healthcare workers in bright, comfortable and carefully designed spaces. Functionally, the facility brings together laboratory diagnostics, specialized activities, medical imaging, and prevention programs in a single location, with the aim of offering a comprehensive and easily accessible healthcare service. The center thus responds to the health needs of the local community, while assuming the role of a new urban reference capable of combining care, services and the city. The focus on technological innovation and the architectural solutions adopted helps define a contemporary, efficient environment oriented towards people's well-being. Indoor environments are characterized by the use of natural and sustainable materials, which contribute to creating a welcoming and reassuring atmosphere: a space for pause and protection, away from the rhythm and flow of daily activities. The quality of the spaces is further emphasized by a diffused and dynamic natural light, capable of marking time and movement, generating sensations of comfort and calm.
